Sven E Carlsson

Sven E Carlsson believes that music videos fall in to two main catergories. The first one being performance where the video will mainly show the artsist singing and/ro dancing. The second of the two catergories is the art clip where the video will show something else during its duration.

Performance

Beyonce's music video "All the single ladies" is a great example of how music videos can fall into one of the groups said by Sven E Carlsson. Thorughout the video Beyonce and two other attractrive ladies stoo either side of her dance in a very appealing way. In many music videos these days the artist is almost made into the selling item in the sense that their fans will want to aspire to become like them. In performance videos this is nearly seen every time by the way the artists looks, how they dance and ultimatly how they sing.

 Art

An example of an art clip where the video doesn't contain any clear narrative, lip syncing or performance by the artist is Mad World by Gary Jules. Throughout the video an Ariel shot is showing a group of people constructing different objects such as houses and face from just themselves. In no point throughout the video do you see the artist singing or dancing but just these people making these pictures that usually aren't in relation to the lyrics.
