Editing Techniques

For our music we would of course want to make it look as professional as it can to ensure that the finished product looks like something that you may see on a music channel, and for this certain editing techniques can be a great way to make that happen. Of course some editing techniques require certain technologies that unfortunately aren't available to use for use so my group decided to test 3 techniques that we though would be simple and easy to film but would also look very effective. The first one we used was making a object move as if a person was controlling it to do so. This techniques was my favourite as it was simple to film and edit, and also looked very effective and professional to me. The second editing techniques that we attempted to film and edit was walking backwards and reversing footage to give the effect that people around the main actor are walking backwards. The last of our edits was duplicating the same actor in the same place. For this you need to set the camera up in exactly the same place and take two shots of the actor on either side of the frame and then edit the 2 together by cropping each empty space to their side out and putting each frame together. Another fairly simple edit to do when you get it right it becomes very effective.
